DoodleStroodle Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 18, 2026

Last Updated: April 18, 2026

App Version: 1.0+

Overview

DoodleStroodle is an educational game for children ages 4–8, designed to make learning about animals fun and interactive. We built this app with your family's privacy as our top priority.

The simple version:We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. Not from you, not from your child. DoodleStroodle is completely offline — it works without any internet connection and never sends information to our servers or anyone else's.

What Information We Collect

Nothing.

Specifically, we do NOT collect:

  • ❌ Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personal identifying information
  • ❌ Location data (GPS, WiFi location, or otherwise)
  • ❌ Photos, videos, or voice recordings
  • ❌ Device advertising ID (IDFA, AAID, etc.)
  • ❌ Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
  • ❌ Information about which animals your child learns or which puzzles they solve
  • ❌ Crash reports or diagnostic data that could identify the user
  • ❌ Cookies, beacons, or other tracking technologies
  • ❌ Information about app usage patterns

Not even anonymously. Not even indirectly. We literally don't collect data.

Local Data Storage

The only information DoodleStroodle saves is your child's progress on their own device:

  • Which animals they've unlocked
  • Which stickers they've earned
  • Which puzzles they've completed
  • Sound volume preference

This data:

  • Lives only on the device it was created on
  • Is never uploaded to the cloud
  • Is never synced to our servers
  • Is never shared with us or any third party
  • Can be completely deleted by uninstalling the app
  • Is not accessible to other apps

When you delete DoodleStroodle, all local data is permanently removed.

How We Use Information We Don't Collect

Since we collect nothing, we can't use anything. Your child's privacy is built into the app's DNA.

We can't sell data (we have none).

We can't use it for marketing (we have none).

We can't share it with partners (we have none).

In-App Purchases

DoodleStroodle has no in-app purchases at this time.

If we add in-app purchases in a future version, we commit to:

  • Gating any purchase behind a “grown-up check” — a math problem that young children cannot easily solve
  • Never allowing children to approve purchases directly
  • Making free versions of features available (or at least a free starter tier)

Any future payment feature will require explicit parental action. We will never charge children.

Advertising

DoodleStroodle contains zero advertising.

  • No banner ads
  • No video ads
  • No sponsored content
  • No product placement
  • No hidden tracking ads

We will never add advertising to this kids' app. If we ever change this, it will be announced prominently with a free, ad-free version always available.

Third-Party Services

Voice Narration (ElevenLabs)

DoodleStroodle includes warm, engaging voice narration that helps children learn animal names and facts. We generated these audio files using ElevenLabs, a text-to-speech service.

Important:The actual narration files are bundled directly inside the app. They are not streamed from ElevenLabs' servers at runtime.

  • The app does not communicate with ElevenLabs while running
  • No information about your device or child is sent to ElevenLabs
  • If ElevenLabs' service went offline tomorrow, DoodleStroodle would work exactly the same

ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy: https://elevenlabs.io/privacy

Since we use no other SDKs, frameworks, or services at runtime, no other third parties have access to your information.

Parent Controls & External Links

DoodleStroodle includes links to external resources (future updates may include links to related educational sites or our support page).

All external links are gated behind a parent gate:

  • When a child taps an external link, they see a math problem
  • Young children typically cannot solve it mentally
  • Only after solving the problem does the link open
  • Links open in Safari, not inside the app

This prevents accidental clicks and ensures parents can review where links lead.

COPPA Compliance

DoodleStroodle fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which protects children under 13 in the United States.

Why COPPA doesn't apply much here:

COPPA requires sites/apps that collect personal information from children under 13 to:

  • Get verifiable parental consent
  • Provide a privacy policy (✓ this document)
  • Allow parents to access/delete their child's data

Because DoodleStroodle collects zero personal information, most of COPPA's requirements don't apply. We have no data to request consent for, no data to disclose, and no data to delete.

Parents can use DoodleStroodle with confidence that we're not building hidden profiles of their children.

GDPR & International Privacy Laws

For families in the European Union, United Kingdom, Canada, and other regions with privacy laws:

Since we collect no personal data whatsoever, these regulations impose minimal obligations on us. However, we honor the spirit of these laws:

  • No personal data processed— GDPR's consent requirements don't apply
  • No data transfers — Your information never leaves your device
  • Right to access — There is no data to access
  • Right to deletion — Uninstalling the app deletes all local data permanently
  • No profiling — We cannot profile children because we have no data about them

We will never sell data to international partners, and we will never claim to have “legitimate interests” that override privacy.

Data Security

Because we store no personal data on our servers, there's very little to secure. But here's what we do:

  • The app does not require network permissions (no internet connection needed)
  • The app does not store sensitive information that could be exploited
  • The app does not contain hard-coded API keys or authentication tokens
  • Local device storage relies on iOS's built-in file protection
  • Audio files are bundled read-only in the app bundle

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we ever change how we handle data, we will:

  1. Update the “Last Updated” date above
  2. Describe what changed and why
  3. Notify parents prominently when they open the app
  4. Never reduce privacy protections without clear disclosure
  5. Allow a grace period before changes take effect

If you disagree with changes, you can uninstall the app and delete all your data immediately.

As a parent or guardian, you have every right to:

DoodleStroodle respects children and families. We believe the best privacy policy is one where there's nothing to hide.
